Hi there — I'm Rachna, the maker, creator, and dreamer behind RAES Creations. Welcome!
I want to share a little bit about who I am and how this all began — because every piece I make carries a bit of my story, and I think you deserve to know whose hands created yours.
Where It All Started
I learned to crochet from my mother. Some of my earliest memories are of watching her hands — always moving, always creating something beautiful from nothing but a hook and a ball of yarn. She made it look so easy, like the yarn just knew where to go.
When I finally picked up the hook myself, I was hooked (pun intended!). There's something so calming about the rhythm of looping, the way time just... slows down when you're creating.
The First Piece
The very first thing I ever made wasn't for a shop or a customer — it was for my son. He needed a phone cover, and I thought, why not make one myself? I picked out a colour I knew he'd love, sat down with my yarn, and got to work.
When I gave it to him, the look on his face — that mix of surprise and pride, like his mum had made something just for him — that's when I knew this wasn't just a hobby.
That feeling? That's what I want every person who receives a RAES Creation to feel.
Why RAES Creations?
RAES stands for something dear to me. It's a name that carries family, love, and the passing down of something special from one generation to the next — the way my mother passed it to me, and the way I hope to pass it on.
Every piece I make comes from my home in Craigieburn, Melbourne. I don't have a big factory or a team — just me, my hooks, my yarn, and a whole lot of heart.
What I Make
From adorable amigurumi dolls to cosy beanies, tote bags, headbands, booties, and dollhouse creations — I make things that are meant to be loved, held, and treasured. Each piece is made with care, attention to detail, and a genuine love for the craft.
